Established in 2015 by art historians Laura De Beir and Ellen De Schepper, Fine Art Consult was created in response to a demand for independent, impartial and confidential advice when buying or selling fine art.

Specialising in global Modern, Contemporary and emerging artists, Fine Art Consult offers high quality advice to aspiring or established private collectors, family estates, corporations and interior decorators in their acquisitions, sales and management of works of art.

Their collective art market expertise, combined with art historical understanding, form the base of all their creative strategies.

The development of an art collection is a bespoke process built on research, dialogue, evaluation and curatorial consideration.

While the art market is full of potential, it is also full of pitfalls. Therefore market insight into price, quality, condition and authenticity is indispensable.

Fine Art Consult aims to curate distinguished collections that reflect their clients’ unique visions and that will stand the test of time.

In doing so, they work independently, impartially and with discretion, solely representing their clients’ interests in the market while maintaining an outstanding relationship with all the artists, private collectors, galleries and auction houses they collaborate with worldwide.

Furthermore, Fine Art Consult is experienced at tracking down specific types of artworks for collectors through their broad network, all while negotiating the best possible price.

For clients selling works, Fine Art Consult confidentially advises on where, when and how to sell in order to maximise returns.

They provide each seller with an impartial assessment of the relevant market conditions, as well as an evaluation of all available options and their implications.

For both individual works and larger collections, Fine Art Consult primarily focusses on private sales yet equally advises on consignment or auction, as they handle all due-diligence, negotiations and logistics.

Over the past years, Fine Art Consult has built an extensive network of third-parties such as shippers, insurance companies, storage facilities and framers among others to ensure qualitative and cost-effective collection governance.

They are therefore able to offer a wide range of collection management services such as valuations, arranging exhibition loans, collection planning, digitalising inventories, research, framing, installation, storage and more.

Fully transparent fees are pre-agreed and based on successful transactions or projects.

At all times clients can trust that Fine Art Consult operates with absolute integrity and discretion.

Prior to founding Fine Art Consult, Laura and Ellen held positions at Christie’s, Bonhams, Art Dubai and Dorotheum, both in Belgium and abroad.

Laura holds a Masters degree in Art History from the KULeuven and a Postgraduate in Connoisseurship from the VUBrussels. Ellen holds a Bachelor in Art History from the KULeuven and a Master in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
